We were thrilled to have the support of eBay for Charities for International Women’s Day. eBay donated 10% from purchases from the eBay Brand Outlet, which features a range of leading brands.
Workwear Tips from the Experts
The partnership featured in ELLE, with four fashion editors choosing the outfits that most inspire them at work. We've selected some the sagest advice for you below.
Digital Editor, Natasha Bird, says she opts for power suiting, pairing these androgynous designs with statement, fashion-forward accessories. She says,
It’s important to me to look smart. Because I manage a team and I’m client-facing, I don’t want my clothes to be too distracting. I leave the more outlandish looks for junior team members and usually stick to my signature style of trouser suits.
Features assistant, Becky Burgum, also spoke about statement styles, but warned against casual looks for the office:
I’d absolutely never wear jeans, especially to work. Personally, I love a dress. I find them comfortable and smart.
Beauty assistant, Charlotte Bitmead, and designer, Sonia Ruprah, both shared that comfort was an important element of any work wardrobe, especially if the role involves sitting at a desk for most of the day. Says Sonia,
I naturally gravitate towards clothes that are easy to wear. My advice for power dressing would be to wear what makes you feel most like yourself. Personally, I like to feel comfortable and have some movement in my clothes…when you feel comfortable you look more confident.
