Power of Women Awards 2021

In 2021, we took Power of Women online. Faced with restrictions and challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, we stayed connected and committed to our cause.

Choose to Challenge: In Conversation with Lara Asprey

In celebration of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, we hosted a series of virtual events with our friends and supporters. The theme for International Women’s Day that year was ‘Choose to Challenge’, and we made this the focus of our discussion with advice expert, Lara Asprey. You can watch Lara, in conversation with our Chair and Founder, Juanita Ingram, below.

We also launched the Dress for Success, ‘Your Hour, Her Power,’ campaign, to raise funds for the vital work we do. We asked our supporters to consider giving one hour of their pay to empower a woman in need, giving her access to the tools she needs to achieve economic independence.

Your Hour, Her Power: Celebrating Women’s History Month with Sue Reid, Angie Greaves and Paul Wharton

We continued our Power of Women celebrations with our ‘Your Hour, Her Power’ campaign, which coincided with Women’s History Month.

We welcomed Sue Reid, Managing Director (UK and International) and Adrianna Papell, who spoke to us about her career and the challenges women face in the workplace, particularly when it comes to maternity support. Sue offered her words of wisdom, giving attendees some truly invaluable career advice.

Talking Challenge and Change with Angie Greaves

We were also joined by Angie Greaves, a long-time supporter of our cause. Angie spoke to Juanita about challenge: challenging systemic barriers, personal challenges, and the challenges women continue to face. The pair reflected on the pivotal role female leaders have in driving corporate and economic change, as well as social and cultural change.
