APPAREAL X Dress for Success Greater London: On a Shared Sustainability Mission

At Dress for Success Greater London, we are committed to extending the life of fashion garments by providing our clients with beautiful, pre-loved pieces that are ready to be worn again and again. And so of course, we love to partner with organisations who share our sustainability mission.

That’s why we’re delighted to have received donations from APPAREAL, a clothing brand on a sustainable mission. It uses ECONYL® yarn in its manufacturing, which is a regenerated nylon made from waste materials, like fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring and industrial plastic. APPAREAL aims to make all of its items out of recycled fabrics, and it is committed to continuously developing its practices in line with this.

All APPAREAL garments are ethically made in Europe, in audited factories, and are easy to care for. As a ‘30 Wears’ approved brand, its items are washable and non-iron, eliminating the need for toxic dry cleaning and saving on electricity use.  

The easy-care nature of APPAREAL’s garments is at the heart of its sustainability mission, but this also reflects a wider consideration for the people who wear its clothes. These garments are designed with busy women in mind and, for us, specifically cater to the differing needs of the women we support.

Our clients face all kinds of challenges and may not have access to specialist cleaning services, neither now nor in the future. By partnering with a brand like APPAREAL, we can provide our clients with high-quality, easy-care clothing that they can wear in the workplace. With a focus on outerwear and dresses, these garments are stylish and wearable; functional, fashion-forward pieces like these are the bedrock of any capsule workwear wardrobe. And, by utilising donated items, we are reinstating our commitment to the circular fashion economy.
