On Sunday 26 November 2017, we hosted our first Fashion & Philanthropy Empowerment Speaker Series™ event, in conversation with the inspiring Carolina Issa.
Hosted by our Founder and Chair, Juanita Ingram, the event took place at one of L.K. Bennett’s London stores. With a cocktail and canapé reception setting a suitably fashionable tone for the evening, Juanita sat down with CEO and consultant, Caroline Issa, to discuss her journey in fashion and the industry as a vehicle for positive change.
Issa is the chief executive and fashion director of TANK, and the editor of the first luxury fashion Virtual Reality magazine, Because. She grew up in Montreal and began her career in modelling, before moving into fashion consultancy and business. She is passionate about the business of fashion and the philanthropic potential of the industry, noting the impact clothing can have on a woman's selfhood.

About the Speaker Series
The Speaker Series invites influential speakers to discuss fashion and philanthropy, exploring the cross section of those two things, and how fashion can be a force for good.
For years, fashion has been a vehicle to inspire and empower women, both in terms of the styles we wear and the opportunity the industry provides. Many fashion houses and fashion influencers recognise the interconnectedness of fashion and philanthropy, with leaders in the fashion industry partnering with charitable organisations such as ours to empower women.
This series explores various aspects of fashion and reflects on how it can shape the lives of women all over the world.
