Dress for Success Greater London is a registered charity that empowers women into the workplace from positions of disadvantage by providing professional clothing and styling, interview coaching and ongoing support once they re-join the workplace.
An affiliate of US-based Dress for Success Worldwide, Greater London carries the torch for the organisation which has held a presence in London since 2000.
In 2017, 67% of our clients went on to secure employment.
Our board of trustees is committed to the organisation's success and growth, and includes Chairman Juanita Ingram, who is the founder of the Greater London Dress for Success affiliate which opened its doors in 2015, and Susan Denmead, who brought Dress for Success to London some 18 years ago having seen its power in the US.
We help women to get back into the workplace by preparing them for an upcoming job interview. Our intervention is simple; we deliver a one-to-one styling session and provide clothing to help her feel confident and boost self-esteem. We then deliver an interview preparation session with one of our volunteer interview coaches who will enable them to perfect their interview techniques and be ready for the real thing.
Our clients in 2017 felt an average of 29% more confident for their job interview as a result of our simple intervention, and 98.4% of clients were happy with their appointment.
Each woman's journey back to employment with Dress for Success starts with a referral. We have over 200 referral organisations registered that support women facing particular disadvantages in life. These organisations include the Department for Work and Pensions (Jobcentre Plus), local authorities, educational institutions, social housing providers and other charities such as Crisis, Single Homeless Project, Twining Enterprise, London CRC, Resugo Spear and more.
We are always looking for new organisations to register with us to allow their clients to access our services - please get in touch.
Dress for Success is delighted to have patrons who support and cheerlead for the organisation wherever possible.
